Chiropractic Techniques

The World Federation of Chiropractic defines Chiropractic as the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system.

━  Diversified Technique

The most widely used Chiropractic Technique. Diversified Technique involves the application of a high velocity, low amplitude thrust to a restricted joint with the goal of restoring normal range of motion to the joint.

━  Thompson Technique / Drop Table

Low force, gentle technique whereby the Chiropractic Table ‘drops’ to assist the Chiropractic adjustment.

━  Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT)

Low force, gentle technique that addresses the functional relationship between the sacrum (pelvis) and the occiput (skull) through the use of blocks/wedges.

━  Cranial Therapy

Low force, gentle technique that relieves compression in the bones of the skull through gentle pressure and mobilization

━  Applied Kinesiology

A complementary therapy that assesses imbalances of the body through muscle testing.

━  Retained Neonatal Reflexes

Hands-on therapy developed to facilitate integration of retained primitive reflexes for improved brain-body connection.

━  Activator

Adjustment is delivered by a spring loaded, hand held instrument. The force delivered by the instrument is lighter than manual adjusting forces.

━  Rehabilitation

A protocol designed to optimize function and reduce disability in a patient through the use of the following modalities:

  • Strengthening & Stretching Exercises
  • Soft Tissue Work - Trigger Point Release, Active Release Technique, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation
  • Strapping & Bracing
  • Dry Needling
